It’s Back!

The Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Tuxedo Cake!

New & Improved for 2016!

I decided to go rectangle this time rather than make a round cake like I did in my “past life”, but you can feel free to make this cake to any size, any shape and any combination of awesome recipes you like best!

That’s the beauty of building on recipes, you can really make it to your liking!

By pouring all of the batter from my Chocolate Cake Recipe into a 12″ X 18″ Pan I was able to get the 1/8 sheet cake size as you will see.

Packed with Vanilla Pastry Cream & Fresh Strawberries you will not want to wait for any special occasions to make this cake!

I realize I did not give a very good explanation of how to make the white chocolate decor triangles in this video, but I did explain it really well here in this one!

I used only 3 layers of the total 4 layers from the sheet cake- you can use all 4 if you like.
If using Couverture Chocolate it must be tempered for dipping the berries & making the decor

I just love watching u. Some are easy, some take a little more patients. But, well worth it all. So talented. What else can I say about my favorite baker. AWESOME!
Keep up that wonderful work you do. You are the artist of baking.
    Take care,
God Bless You in all that you do.

  3. Gretchen I love all your recipes. Never been let down by any. I remember that you had also done a cake that had the white chocolate triangles as wedding dresses. Could you post that one sometime soon? I want to make a cake for my daughters Bridal Shower and that would be perfect.

    Thanks
    Tammy

    1. I mentioned in the video I do not wash the strawberries for dipping in chocolate and the reason being, because they tend to get super soggy super fast that way, and then the chocolate will start to pull away from the berry and they dont look very nice, but I do wash the ones for the filling- I think I forgot to mention that part

  4. Why I’m finding you only now, I don’t know, anyway I’m happy to have found you, guess nothing before its time. Thanks for all your practical advise and wonder suggestions, not to mention the lovely recipes will be an injustice. Thanks again.

  5. HI,

When you baked the cake in the half sheet pan, how long approximately did it take to bake? It’s just that you didn’t mention it in the video.

Thank you for everything, your cakes and recipes are AMAZING!
